Google Business Profile (GBP) is where a huge share of "digital marketing agency near me" and city-qualified queries still resolve. If your website is polished but your GBP is thin, you are leaving impressions — and trust — on the table.

What "optimised" actually means in 2026
GBP ranking is not a mysterious black box. The levers that move discovery (and clicks) are boring and consistent:
- Relevance — categories, services, and description match the query.
- Distance — service area and geo match the searcher's location.
- Prominence — reviews, photos, posts, citations, and brand mentions.
You cannot fake prominence with keyword stuffing. You can compound it with consistency.
1. Categories: be specific
Primary category should be the commercial intent you want most:
- Digital marketing agency (preferred for agencies like us)
- Not the vague "Marketing agency" if a more specific option exists
Secondary categories we recommend testing (max ~9 total):
- Website designer
- Advertising agency
- SEO agency
- Software company (if you ship products / automation)

2. Services list: use the same titles as your website
Google rewards entity consistency. If your site says "Website design & development" and GBP says "Web designing", you dilute the signal.
Copy service names from your live service pages. Link each service description back to the matching URL (or a city page like SEO in Aligarh).
3. Description that earns the click
Lead with who + where + what + proof + CTA. Example structure:

4. Photos are an impressions lever
Google's own guidance and practitioner data agree: profiles with fresh, diverse photos get more views.
Aim for 20+ uploads across:
- Logo and cover
- Team / workspace
- Dashboards and work-in-progress (blur client PII)
- Live site screenshots
- Campaign creatives
Refresh monthly. Stale profiles look abandoned.
5. Posts, Q&A, and products
- Posts: one per week (offer, update, event, or tip). They expire after ~7 days — treat them like a content cadence.
